The Maryland Affordable Housing Coalition (MAHC) is a 501(c)6 founded in the Spring 2000 and advocates for resources for affordable rental housing development through sustained or increased funding for established programs, such as the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development's (DHCD) Rental Housing Programs. We also advocate on our own, and with our partners, to promote legislative initiatives that support the development and operation of affordable rental housing communities in Maryland. The Coalition is funded by the generous support of its member and sponsor organizations.
MAHC strives to develop and promote "best practices" in conjunction with the Maryland DHCD staff through frequent interactions and trainings. It also provides events and programs that allow the affordable rental housing community to network, share information and best practices, and advance our advocacy mission for affordable rental housing.
