MAHC is pleased to announce that we have engaged hyrUP, a Maryland-based consulting firm, to offer a series of Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) workshops to our members. This unique experiential learning program is for leaders committed to being catalysts of change and to progressing the work of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Each course is limited to 60 participants to ensure that sessions are interactive and meaningful for all.
SESSION ONE - JUNE 7, 2021 "At the Core"
This session focuses on identity and self-awareness; an exploration of how values and belief systems shape our view of the world, and how experiences play a role in creating limiting beliefs and stereotyping. Understanding the evolution of self is a critical step in opening minds to challenge assumptions, understand preferences, and embrace new ways of thinking.
SESSION TWO - JUNE 14, 2021 "Blind Spots, Unconscious Bias"
In this workshop, attendees will explore various forms of bias and engage in activities and discussion that illuminate the effect biases have on our day to day decisions. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of how to challenge their biases and develop strategies for change.
The fee is $25 for a single session or $40 if you register for both sessions. Due to the small class size, please limit registration to no more than 4 people per organization. If you wish to register additional staff, please contact Miranda to get on a waiting list. There will be no refunds offered.
